I. the problems that often occur when using the Phototypesetter for output in the prepress publishing system network and its special advantages are mainly caused by the following aspects:

(1) the typesetting operator selects the "ignore image path" option in the "typesetting" option in the "file" menu of the main window in the Feiteng electronic typesetting software when publishing a scheduled newspaper, In this newspaper layout, there are image files discharged through the upper neighbor. The selection of the "ignore image path" option makes the PS file unable to find the image file path during output, resulting in the lack of image file information during output

(2) when the imagesetter operator performs the output operation, he selects the option of "machine ignoring image path" in the "rip parameters" option of the "parameter template" window of pspnt. When interpreting the PS file, he cannot find the path of the image file, resulting in the lack of image file information during output

(3) when pspnt is used to interpret the PS file, the path of the image file does not exist at all. For example, the microcomputer storing the image file library is turned off, and the hard disk drive of the microcomputer storing the image file library is not shared. In this case, when rip interprets the version, the system cannot find the path of the image file, resulting in the loss of image file information during output

(4) there may be too many image path sources for the newspaper typesetter in the local area. Sometimes the image files may come from the microcomputers of different working groups in the local area. When pspnt is used to interpret this newspaper, it takes too long to find the image file path, which takes up a lot of microcomputer system resources, thus affecting other newspapers being output by the imagesetter when interpreting this newspaper, The newspaper in the process of output is suddenly interrupted. At this time, facing the severe energy and environmental challenges, the operator has to manually remove the film and then output it again

(5) in the local area, the layout of the newspaper version is carried out. Sometimes the images discharged may be image files on other microcomputers. The path for layout is to find an image file through the upper neighbor for layout. After layout, when the layout is interpreted through pspnt, the information of the image file discharged through the upper neighbor may not be found. When outputting, because the images of the layout are not all output, the film will be re produced, resulting in a waste of film. The reason for this may be that some images are discharged in the way of upper neighbor while some image files are not discharged in the way of upper neighbor. For example, if the image files stored on the disk of the computer used for typesetting are not found and typeset in this way, the images may not come out during output; It is also possible that the typesetting file may be opened in the way of the above neighbor during typesetting, but the typesetting file is not opened in the way of the upper neighbor when modifying the layout. When the layout modified in this way is output after publishing, it is likely that the image will not appear; There is another possibility that the departure path is not selected by the way of upper neighbor when the departure path is given, which is most likely to cause the lack of images in the output layout. The abnormal output caused by the above laser phototypesetters during operation is caused by improper typesetting of image files during typesetting, or by unexpected conditions when pspnt interprets the information of image files, that is, the problems are related to the images in the typesetting, and most of them will cause the lack of image information in the films output by the laser phototypesetters, resulting in the waste of films or the interruption of the system.

(6) when the film is output locally, sometimes it is impossible to enter a working group to find the microcomputer for typesetting, or even if the microcomputer for typesetting is found, it cannot normally receive the layout information. This situation may be caused by network failures, such as problems with the data switch, hub or card on the microcomputer; It may also be that the configuration of network equipment is relatively low, the amount of information transmitted is not large, and the transmission speed is not fast enough. For some newspaper pages with a large amount of information, if the data information flow of the hub of the working group or the microcomputer card that stores the information of the page is not large, the microcomputer used to control the output simply cannot normally explain the large amount of information pages, so it is unnecessary to say the film; It is also possible that the network setting parameters are incorrect and the network cannot be started. Another important reason is that the data switch or hub and other network devices in the network system are not turned on at all, or these network devices are powered on only after the microcomputer is started. If so, the microcomputer system cannot find the upper neighbor. Sometimes it needs to wait for a period of time to find the upper neighbor. Sometimes it can only find the upper neighbor and then install the experimental machine after the network device is turned on and the microcomputer is restarted. It is also possible that the PS file path of the newspaper page is not shared when the typesetting computer is used to send and arrange the newspaper pages, and the PS file required to be output by the imagesetter cannot be found in the upper neighbor

II. The prevention and treatment methods for the problems arising from the output of the Phototypesetter in the prepress publishing system network mainly include the following aspects:

(1) when typesetting the newspaper, the typesetting operator should carefully observe the relevant image typesetting options in each typesetting window, and first set various typesetting or publishing parameters correctly before typesetting

(2) the operator of the laser Phototypesetter should understand the workflow of pspnt. The output of a newspaper must first be interpreted to find the path to the image file and call the text information in the output font. Only after it is ensured that there is no error can the Phototypesetter officially start to produce films. With the understanding of this workflow, the operator can timely avoid unnecessary waste or adverse effects caused by plate making and printing of incomplete information due to the lack of image or text information

(3) the operator operating the laser Imagesetter should also set the parameters related to image output of pspnt correctly. Generally, it is very important not to select the "ignore" option in the "rip parameters" option in the "parameter template" window. Of course, the "ignore" option is not only for images, but also for text messages in newspapers. If this option is not selected in the output font library, the text in the version report cannot pass the interpretation. If this option is selected, the missing font will be automatically replaced by regular script when pspnt is used to interpret the version report, and the output can be carried out normally. In addition, this option also controls the supplementary word information in the newspaper version. If the supplementary word library is missing in the output word library and the ignore option is not selected, the arranged layout cannot be interpreted. Only by selecting the ignore option can the pspnt interpretation be skipped, and then proceed with the following operations. When pspnt is used for layout interpretation, if the "ignore" option has to be selected due to text information, it is best to display the lattice for the interpreted layout, and carefully observe the entire layout to see whether there is a lack of images. At the same time, you can also look at the information window for layout interpretation, analyze the displayed information, and output the film only after it is confirmed to be correct

(4) for the typesetting of image files, a corresponding image file library should be established. It is better to fix a unified path in the image file library, so that pspnt can easily find the source of image files. China's wood plastic industry has both internal and external links, so as to ensure that the image information is not lost during output. For the image files discharged through the upper neighbor, the typesetting operator should also send the arranged layout to a fixed path (hard disk drive) through the upper neighbor. For a newspaper, if the image file is discharged in the way of upper neighbor, other image files in any path should be discharged in the way of upper neighbor

(5) for the image file discharged through the upper neighbor, when pspnt is used for interpretation, the exact path discharged into the image file can be given in the "image path" column in the "rip parameter" option of the "parameter setting" option in the "parameter template" window. When the image file has multiple path sources, multiple different paths can be written into the "image path" column at the same time. If the scheduling is performed through the upper neighbor, the pspnt cannot perform normal interpretation at this time. In fact, the above method is a last resort
